Known as being one of the best nature preserves in Pennsylvania, you're going to want to spend the entire day here exploring and taking in all its natural beauty. Located in the eastern part of the state within the Poconos region in Moneroe County, the Blakeslee Natural Area was established in the 1930s and is one of the oldest state parks in the state. It contains over 130 acres of land.

The Austin T. Blakeslee Natural Area draws nature lovers with its many miles of hiking trails, creeks, and waterfalls. By far the best way to explore this lush natural area is to follow one of its three hiking trails.

If you don't want to hike all three, the Highland Loop Trail is by far the most beautiful. Clocking in at just two miles, the Highland Loop Trail will lead you through a beautiful forested area filled with tall hardwood and pine trees. For the most stunning views, be sure to look up.

Blakeslee Natural Area also features beautiful views of Tobyhanna Creek, a popular spot for those who enjoy fishing. You'll even get to see several stunning waterfalls here. It's best to visit after rainfall or after the snow has melted in the wintertime. The Blakeslee Natural Area is open year round so no matter what season you visit, you're sure to be mesmerized by this beautiful natural landscape.

The Austin T. Blakeslee Natual Area is located at 20 PA-115 in Blakeslee, PA. The park is open daily from 7 am to 8 pm.
