b.a. Sweetie Candy is a family business started by brothers-in-law Frank Stansny and Al Tokar back in 1950, and eventually sold to Tom and Judi Scheiman in 1982. Today, Sweeties is known as the biggest candy store in North America boasting over 4,500 different items both classic and contemporary, and houses a soda shop, mini golf course, and ice cream parlor inside.
Perfect for a family outing, you could easily spend hours walking around this massive 40,000 sq foot warehouse checking out all the fun items on display. Any type of candy you could ever imagine can be found here. Jelly beans, PEZ, and endless boxes of candy are piled high to the ceilings on industrial shelves. Weave throughout the aisles of endless goods from classics we know and love today to rare gems from long ago that haven't been sold on store shelves in decades like SloPoke, BB Batts, Kits, Regal Crown, and Broadway licorice rolls.
For a truly unique experience, be sure to check out Sweeties soda aisle. There are hundreds of different sodas here in flavors like birch beer, blueberry, and even grass.
Sweeties also features a brightly colored mini golf course that's open in the warmer months. A round of 18 holes costs just $9 a person. Be sure to come hungry because their concessions offer nachos, hotdogs, and of course, giant ice cream sundaes.
