Ohio is a state filled with gorgeous waterways to explore. From Lake Erie in the north to the Ohio River in the south, we're downright spoiled when it comes to beautiful water scenery.
If you're looking for some of the cleanest and most pristine water in the state, Nelson Ledges Quarry is the place to go. This 167-acre park is home to waterfalls, hiking trails, a campground, and some of the clearest lake water you can find.
Nestled in the secluded area of northeastern Ohio in the town of Garrettsville, this park is surrounded by rolling hills as far as the eye can see. It is also one of the most geologically impressive areas in Ohio, you'll notice cliffs both big and small–the perfect place for some legal cliff jumping.
The water within the quarry park is always the perfect temp just as long as it is a warm and sunny day above 70 degrees. The perfect spot to cool off in the summer months, this water is spring fed meaning it's crystal clear and always refreshing.
This little slice of paradise also makes for a great spot to kayak, paddleboard, fish, and hike. Be sure to bring a camera because the trails that surround this park contain some of Ohio's most stunning waterfalls. You'll find Cascade Falls in the northern half of the park and the Lower Minnehaha Falls through the Ice Box Cave.
