After two long years of COVID — and what seems like an even longer winter — Ohioans are ready to head outside for some summer fun. There are tons of outdoor festivals and fairs taking place throughout the state this month. Keep reading for the top 10 events to attend and where you can find them.

Lilyfest | Fri, Jul 8, 2022 - Sun, Jul 10, 2022 | Rockbridge, OH

You won't find carnival rides or deep-fried foods at Lilyfest, just a whole lot of nature and fun for the entire family. This event takes place inside the Bishop Educational Gardens, filled with acres of flowers, and trees within the Hocking Hills. The event will feature a juried art show, live performances, and tours of an authentic Viking Camp. Admission is free.

Westerville Music and Arts Festival | Sat, Jul 9, 2022 - Sun, Jul 10, 2022 | Westerville, OH

Back after a 2-year hiatus, Westerville's Music and Arts Festival is an all day event featuring over 130 artists, 30 performances, and 20 unique food vendors. Bath Art Festival | Sun, Jul 10, 2022 | Akron, OH

A great way to support local artists, this event will include food vendors and entertainment. Artisans will be selling everything from housewares, handmade jewelry, and paintings. Parking and admission is free.

Summer Moon Festival | Tue, Jul 12, 2022 - Sun, Jul 17, 2022 | Wapakoneta, OH

Back for its 20th year, this unique festival is a celebration dedicated to Neil Armstrong and the neighborhood he grew up in. This 6-day event is filled with tons of things to do including a 5K-10K Run to the Moon, games, food, bed races, wiener dog races, live music, and even a special visit from some of NASA's astronauts. Headlands BeachFest | Sat, Jul 16, 2022 | Mentor

An all-day celebration at the beach, Headlands is a family-friendly event featuring a sandcastle building contest where you can join in and marvel at the work of world champion sand sculptors. Enjoy tons of food trucks, live entertainment, and arts and crafts vendors. Admission and parking is free.

Kelleys Island Outdoor Film Fest | Fri, Jul 22, 2022 - Sun, Jul 24, 2022 | Kelleys Island, OH

Enjoy an old-fashioned drive-in style movie outdoors under the stars the weekend of July 22nd. Each night of the festival will feature a different movie complete with snacks and drinks available for purchase. Admission is free.

Celina Lake Festival | Fri, Jul 22, 2022 - Sun, Jul 24, 2022 | Celina, OH

Celina will be centered around Ohio's largest inland lake, Lake St. Marys. This three-day event will feature tons of things to see and do. Enjoy a spectacular firework display, rides, classic car show, parade, delicious festival food, a 5K, and a variety of live music from country to new wave rock bands. Admission is free.

Blazing Paddles Paddle Fest | Sat, Jul 23, 2022 | Cleveland, OH

Spend a day out on the beautiful Cuyahoga River exploring bridges, industry, and historic sites with your kayak or paddle board. Rentals are also available. Visitors can also join in on a little healthy competition through the festival's 5.7 and 13-mile races. Registration is required.

Ohio State Fair | Wed, Jul 27, 2022 - Sun, Aug 7, 2022 | Columbus, OH

A tradition since 1850, the Ohio State Fair is a celebration that's not to be missed. Performances this year include Nelly, Ice Cube, Zach Williams, Scotty McCreery, Gabriel Iglesias, and Willie Nelson. General fair admission is just $10 for adults and $8 for kids.

The Ohio Eggfest | Sat, Jul 30, 2022 | Obetz, OH

Known as a family-friendly gathering for foodies, this event will be centered around the Big Green Egg Grill where cooking, grilling, and barbecue competitions will take place. Come hungry and enjoy a smorgasbord array of foods from various chefs. 100% of the proceeds benefit cancer research.
