The Summer is all about relaxing and enjoying the warmer weather outdoors. While PA may not technically border an ocean, there are still some breathtaking lakes throughout the state that provide the perfect beach atmosphere for a sunny day.

Shades Beach Park | Erie, PA

Off the beaten path but still easy to access, Shades is located in Western PA near Lake Erie. Here you will find hiking trails, a boat launch, playgrounds, and a picnic facility. The hike up the trail located at the back end of the beach is well worth the effort. It boasts incredible sunset views of the water.

Smithfield Beach | East Stroudsburg, PA

This small beach located along the water gap inside this National park in East Stroudsburg is the perfect place to fish, kayak, or just relax. Clean and very well maintained, cars must pay a fee of $10 for entry. In order to maintain its tranquility, the beach prohibits loud music and alcohol of any kind.
