And Do Good: Soneva properties run the Soneva Foundation, supporting the development of projects that have a positive environmental, social and economic impact on others. While many programs have a positive environmental impact on their local community and beyond, the Foundation cares about the people of the world, beyond just their own community.
Focusing on guests’ inner wellness, Soneva properties have introduced Soneva Soul, offering each guest a personalized pathway to health, happiness and fulfillment. Soneva Soul will encompass resort spas’ movement, sleep, yoga and meditation programs, wellness and lifestyle products and a global network of acclaimed wellness specialists as well as innovative, regenerative modalities and medical services.
Childhood malnutrition is a potentially fatal health condition. The Foundation is funding Action Against Hunger UK to identify and treat severely acute malnourished children in rural Nepal and Rajasthan, India. The programs are designed to reach families in remote villages where distances from health clinics mean they are often underserved. With the support of the Soneva Foundation, Action Against Hunger is able to deliver food baskets to children recovering from malnutrition and organise cooking demonstrations for their parents to ensure they do not slip back into illness.
In addition, Soneva Foundation funded the Care for Children program to open a National Foster Care Training and Resource Center in Chiang Mai. Care for Children will strategically manage and deliver its national training programme from this centre. There are approximately 50,000 orphaned and vulnerable children living in some form of institutional care in Thailand, and the goal is to support the government, ensuring all children have the opportunity to live with a family they can call their own.
