Achieve Your Goals NOW, not later
by Amanda Jane Snyder
Achieve Your Goals NOW, not later.
Because a later person really means a never person. Are you a later person?
Change doesn't happen overnight, and this time of year it's the hardest time to implement change. It's in the middle of the Holiday Season. It gets dark at 3pm. It's cold.
I have a challenge for you. In the next month and a half that we have left in the year... I challenge you to achieve your goals. If now is the hardest time to implement change, then now is the BEST time to implement change. Easy is earned. And if you can make the hard choices now, imagine what you can do when life is a little less hectic, and a little more working in our favor.
Let's develop healthy habits together.
For the next 6 weeks I want you to choose ONE healthy habit to implement into your routine and stick to it. Stick to it for 6 weeks. If you fall off one day, that's okay just hop back on the next day. The rule is, never miss twice (more on this later).
Healthy Habits ideas:
- go for a 15 min walk everyday
- drink water first thing upon waking
- make your bed everyday + say 1 positive affirmation at the same time
- meditate for 5 minutes a day
- practice a workout routine even if it's just 5 push ups and 5 squats a day
It's amazing what small steps can lead to!
The Impact of 5 Min a Day
So how can doing 5 squats a day be impactful? Well, imagine if you continued to do 0 squats a day. By the end of this 6 weeks you'll have done 0 squats. Now imagine if you actually did the 5 squats a day? By the end of the 6 weeks you'll have done 210 squats. If you continue doing 5 squats a day for a whole year, you'll have done 1820 squats. Think of how strong you'll be in 10 years if you keep going! And guess what, 5 minutes usually doesn't just stay at 5 minutes. Once you develop the habit of 5 minutes, that might eventually extend to 10 minutes, or maybe even one day, that 5 minutes turns into an hour of a full body workout while adding weights/load.
Never Miss Twice
I have One Simple Rule: Never Miss Twice. Once you skip twice, you're now regressing into the habit of not doing the thing rather than the habit of doing the thing. Once you choose the daily habit you want to work on for the next 6 weeks, you will encounter hard times, you will struggle and have days you just don't feel like doing it. And guess what, you probably will miss one day. To stay on track, the only rule is, never skip twice.
What 5 minute habit will you implement over the next 6 weeks? Let me know in the comments below!
