Running low on incense, natural soaps, and essential oils? No reason to freak out, dude. Just cruise down to the 3rd Annual Hippies At the Village Festival in Burton, Michigan on Saturday and Sunday, July 31 — August 1, 2021 from 11 AM — 7 PM. The indoor/outdoor venue includes 60,000-square feet of Collette’s Vintage Art and Antique Mall and will be set up on acres of freshly cut grass. (Who doesn’t like to chill out with a bunch of grass?) Once there, you’ll find everything you need.
The Hippies At the Village Festival offers a couple days to gather with like-minded people, listen some good tunes, do some shopping, and enjoy some primo entertainment. Leave all the heavy, modern day problems behind and enter a zone of art, joy, and love.
There will be vendors selling jewelry and crystals, psychics reading tarot cards, body painters, and artists demonstrating their craft. Do you need some new threads? There will be plenty of tie-dye and other groovy apparel! Why not get some Henna body art done? It lasts up to a week!
Don’t worry about losing all your bread as soon as you arrive. This festival is free. You pay zip, nada, nothing. Even entering the fun and freaky Black Light Room won’t cost you any dough!
On Saturday at 11 AM, NinjaFola! kicks off the event with live music. During the latter part of their act, they’ll welcome folks from the crowd to come up and join them in a jam session. Bring your djembe, tambourine, or other instrument and make some beautiful music with new friends! From 4 PM — 7 PM Raising the Dead, a Grateful Dead tribute band, will mesmerize the crowd with the band’s most popular hits. As Jerry Garcia said, “We’re like licorice. Not everybody likes licorice, but the people who like licorice really like licorice.”
Magenta Moody is the opening act Sunday at 11 AM. This Motor City recording artist has a soulful voice that will stir your heart. This is her first time performing at a Hippies At the Village Festival. Be sure to give her a warm welcome! From 12:30 PM — 2:30 there will be roving live performers showing off their unique talents throughout the festival. Itchycoo Park Michigan will play from 4 PM — 7 PM. This band caters to the late 60s early 70s music scene, rocking out all your favorite classics of the era.
Make the most of these free concerts by bringing camping chairs or a blanket to spread out on the ground. This year, straw bales will be scattered around the live entertainment area. There will be food vendors with an array of different menu items. This event is wheelchair accessible and there will be clean indoor restrooms available.
Okay, cool cats and kittens! Now you have the low-down on the 3rd Annual Hippies At the Village Festival at Collette’s Vintage Art and Antique Mall located at 5350 Davison Road, Burton, Michigan. Hope to see you there!
