Have you heard the good news? Rhode Island has eased restrictions on mask-wearing due to an update in CDC guidelines, and many restaurants are now open at full capacity. Keep in mind that businesses are still able to require masks if they so choose, and those policies have been put in place to protect workers and customers alike. That brings us to my favorite restaurant, Gregg's in East Providence. Their dining areas are open, and they simply require customers to remain masked up when you're not actively eating at your table, for example, when using the restroom or ordering from your server. It's a great way to make everyone feel as safe and secure as possible during these times. You can read more about the measures Gregg's Restaurant is taking to keep everyone safe on their official website. This is a great restaurant. The decor is good. It's clean. It's bright but not too loud upstairs. It's dark and cozy downstairs in the pub, which had plenty of seating. The menu has a nice variety of foods and drinks, and there are quite a few lighter options if you're into that sort of thing. The service was great as well -- friendly, fast, and attentive when we needed something or wanted to place an order for more drinks or food.It also felt nice to be in an establishment that seemed like it was geared towards locals versus tourists (or both). This is a great restaurant that I have been to quite a few times. In fact, my parents and I have been going there for nearly four decades. The decor is really good. There are televisions all over the place on the lower level, and it's very well lit for a downstairs bar. The service is always amazing; they are very attentive and friendly, and they tried to be as helpful as possible and succeed in doing so. The food is great too, I got chopped steak with fries and onion rings, and it was done on time with no waiting which is pretty impressive for a busy place. This place is so fantastic that I'm going back today actually. If you haven't tried it out yet you should!
