Texas College graduation group photo call of 1956

Tour Tyler Texas

Today September 27TH, 2023 was the 1st time my daddy James Edmond Shackelford - at age 90, seen his Texas College graduation group photo, perhaps for the first time.

The photo was given to me by a local historian friend who I had the unique pleasure of attending the Texas College Day Nursery under the fine direction of Dr. Joy B. Ross in 1966.

My daddy graduated for Emmett Jay Scott High School in 1950, and then he attended 3 years at Texas college from 1950 to 1953.

Dad got drafted during the Korean Conflict although he did not serve in Korea. He served in Germany and was in the Army for 2 years,

After military services my dad finished his last year at Texas College graduating in the Spring of 1956.

Special Thanks to Lady Dee Pendleton, for this great photo of your mother Mrs. Dorothy Pendleton, (see photo - 2nd row from the top, 3rd one from the left), and my dad top row, 1st person on the left)
