All of the high schools in Clay County set to have football games this Friday will have those games postponed to various dates next week due to Tropical Storm Ian.

The Clay High Blue Devils are on a bye this week. Therefore, they are the only school that didn’t need to adjust their schedule amid Tropical Storm Ian.

Middleburg head coach Ryan Wolfe announced on his Twitter that the in-county matchup between the 1-4 Middleburg Broncos and 1-4 Ridgeview Panthers will be played next Monday at 6 p.m. at Middleburg High School.

The Keystone Heights Indians will also play on Monday. The 1-3 Indians will host the undefeated Bradford Tornados at 7:30 p.m., according to MaxPreps.

Oakleaf High School’s Twitter page said in a statement that they will be postponing their homecoming game against the 4-1 Creekside Knights to Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. Both schools are able to postpone the game to next Thursday because both teams had a bye for next week based on their original schedule.

The 3-1 Fleming Island Golden Eagles postponed their game against the undefeated Bartram Trail Bears to Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at Bartram Trail. To postpone their game against Bartram Trail, Fleming Island announced that their game against Lake Minneola is canceled. The game against Lake Minneola was originally scheduled for Oct. 7.

All schools in Clay County will remain closed through Friday, according to the Clay County District Schools Twitter page.
