Awkward Moments Galore: Christie Roasts Trump, Surprises with Biden Jab!

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has made criticizing former President Donald Trump a key part of his campaign.

Instead of convincing Republican voters to quit their love affair with the former president, Christie focused most of his jabs on Trump's avoidance of debates.

Christie is one of the seven Republican presidential aspirants who gathered at a debate in Reagan Library in California for the party's second primary debates.

Trump ditched the event again.

Christie went further than anyone else in refuting Trump, concluding the discussion by stating, "This man has not only divided our party, he has divided families all over this country."

All the candidates sounded essentially the same on most subjects without staking out any distinct ground.

It was not until the end that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis bragged about his record of a conservative renaissance.

The debate featured several awkward and downright embarrassing moments, including overly scripted phrases and some clumsy retorts.

In an early attack on Trump, Christie glared directly into the camera and said that if the candidate keeps skipping debates, he should be given the moniker "Donald Duck."

Slowly, scattered laughs started to emerge.

Later, Christie made another awkward jab at someone no one anticipated being mentioned: first lady Jill Biden.

In an attempt to imply that teachers unions have a significant influence in Biden's White House, the New Jersey governor claimed the president is "sleeping with a member of the teachers' union."

The first lady is known to be a community college teacher and member of the National Education Association.

Following numerous other candidates' responses about schooling, former Vice President Mike Pence jumped at the chance to address the unpleasant topic of private marital relations rather than avoiding it. He mentioned the teaching career of his own wife.

"I gotta admit, I've been sleeping with a teacher for 38 years," Pence said.

Though, he was not required to.

What's your take on Trump's debate absence and Christie's unexpected jab at First Lady Jill Biden during the GOP debate?
