If there is one thing that can make you feel better today, it’s the thing you don’t want to do, address the elephant in the room.
The elephant in the room is big as ever, and it’s not leaving until you ask him politely. Many refuse to see the elephant, throwing masks, clothes, and makeup over it and hiding behind big words like: “I hear you,” and “that’s totally fine,” while letting internal grudges spiral out of control.
You have two voices inside of you. One is angry and aggressive, and the other is kind and calm. People have a funny way of becoming the voice they express more.
I would judge everyone with my nose up in the clouds while I was interning on the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. I was a big shot. I could list your flaws in 5 minutes and disassemble your existence without raising my tone.
I was hungry for success and found myself at the bottom.
The truth was, I was miserable, lacked purpose, and was deeply out of touch with myself and the world.
You live in the best time in human history, but sadly, also the most anxious, depressed, and internally conflicting period to date. You can enjoy express meals, instant gratification, and mind-blowing entertainment without much effort, but you can’t find peace and love that easily.
Nobody teaches love and acceptance any longer.
Today, things are different, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.
And you can turn your life around, despite the odds, jobs, or pandemics.
Don’t entertain the judgemental voice that comes every so often. Seek to understand and offer empathy for others. If someone stole your belongings, they’re probably in a worse economic situation than you are right now. If someone hurt your feelings, maybe they’re hurt too. If your boss is yelling all the time, they’re probably just miserable.
The only thing you can control is your reaction to the world, so why not make it loving and calm?
You are everything you need to steer your ship towards love and happiness.
Use the right voice.
Your voice is omnipresent and powerful. And only one minute of your time can change your day today, and then your life in the upcoming weeks. Little things have a funny way of adding up into something great.
Think of 3 people you dislike, and hold a grudge against.
Then, let it go. Release. Forgive them all. Forgive them because of you. Wish them happiness, and enlightenment, and a wonderful time with wonderful people.
Bring yourself to visualize your annoying neighbor living a meaningful life.
Your mood will light up! You will feel like a better human being. Your altruism will shine from the inside. And you will unshackle the emotional chains that hold you down.
Wishing happiness for people you dislike is powerful, almost godlike.
Take 30 seconds of your day, and think of two people. Then release and with happiness, love, and acceptance.
