Chinese nationals have been caught several times this year illegally in the United States. Some have even crossed the southern border including Texas. Governor Greg Abbott recently shared his thoughts on a Fox News interview on Sunday, December 3.
In the interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, Governor Abbott said:
“It is extraordinarily dangerous because, first of all, as you point out, we have people from China coming here. We also have people on the known terrorist watch list who are coming across the border. And so there's extraordinary dangers, calls to our country by Biden's open border policies. And obviously, Biden is doing nothing about it.”
“And that's why Texas has to step up and apprehend as many of these people as possible to make sure that they're not posing a threat to our country. But this is a very serious existential threat to our country caused by Joe Biden. And that's exactly why Texas is taking extraordinary steps to try to crack down on it.”
In the Fox interview, Governor Abbott said Texas was no longer the number one state allowing illegal immigrants. Abbott said Tucson and the San Diego Sector were seeing a higher number of border crossers.
Recently border patrol was overwhelmed in Arizona handling illegal immigrants who were crossing the southern border according to Border Patrol Chief John Modlin.
Earlier this year, News Nation reported 1,667 Chinese nationals crossed the southern border.
Governor Abbott only reinforced the seriousness of illegal Chinese nationals entering Texas.
The New York Times reported last month that over 24,000 Chinese nationals were detained crossing the border in the past year. This was more than the past 10 years combined.
