Former President Donald Trump has been the leading Republican in polls to challenge current President Joe Biden in the next presidential election in 2024. Texas Department of Public Safety Lieutenant Chris Olivarez was recently interviewed on Fox News and believes a new policy could help Texas and other states with the migrant crisis.
Just after Texas Governor Greg Abbott gave his support to Trump on his recent visit to the southern border in Edinburg. The support from Texas could make things easier for the Republican candidate. Just the support of Governor Abbott could mean a lot for Texas voters as they head to the polls next year.
One of the big issues is how President Biden has handled the border crisis with his open border policy. According to Fox News, a record number of migrants made their way into the country in fiscal year 2023.
In the Fox News video with Lieutenant Olivarez and host Lawrence B. Jones, Jones gave accurate numbers of the number of migrants encountered.
- 3,201,144 nationwide encounters
- 600,000 + gotaways
- 172 terrorist watchlist
Olivarez believes a Trump presidency would bring a new policy to limit the number of illegal immigrants entering the country.
“Texas is forever grateful for our brave service members who work day and night to protect and defend our state and our nation.”
“I am proud to be with President Trump here today to thank the thousands of Texas National Guard soldiers and DPS troopers who are stationed along the border for Operation Lone Star to respond to President Biden’s border crisis. This Thanksgiving as they are away from their families and loved ones, may we remember the sacrifices these brave men and women in uniform make every day to ensure the safety and security of all Texans and Americans.”
Do you think Donald Trump would be better than President Biden handling the border?
