Texas Governor Greg Abbott is about to sign Senate Bill 3 to force local police to detain migrants and send them back over the border. The price tag for this bill is expected to cost $1.3 billion according to 740 KTRH. But this isn’t the only cost taxpayers will pay.

The Biden administration is also doing its part as illegal immigrants make their way to the country. A House Homeland Security Committee used a think tank that estimates taxpayers could pay up to $451 billion per year as care is provided to immigrants.

The Centre for Immigration Studies placed the blame on the Biden administration and its open border policy.

According to Fox News, the report said:

"Only a small fraction [of the costs] is ever recouped from the taxes paid by illegal aliens, with the rest falling on the shoulders of American citizens and lawful residents."
"Mass illegal immigration, accelerated by Mayorkas’ open-borders policies, now represents a massive cost to the federal government and state governments alike, as well as the pocketbooks of private citizens and businesses.”

Over $5 billion a year in funding paid for health care costs that included Medicaid costs for illegal immigrants, costs of the fentanyl crisis, law enforcement costs, and states to educate migrant children.

Melissa Ford with the Texas Public Policy Foundation said according to KTAR:

"This is money that's being lost in health care, law enforcement, housing, and education."
"And it takes into account millions of illegal migrants that have been released to DHS, and then the 1.7 million got-aways that we've had since the Biden administration took office."

How do you feel about your tax money paying for illegal and legal immigrants?
