President Joe Biden was in New York City this week, but nothing is planned to talk to the mayor about the migrant crisis. Mayor Eric Adams confirmed he does not have any official visits with the president.
Mayor Adams has repeatedly asked for more support from President Biden to help deal with the migrant crisis which is over 100,000 migrants who arrived over the past year.
According to Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s X account, he bussed over 14,000 migrants to New York City which started a little over a year ago. Other migrants made their way to New York on their own to start a new life.
According to Fox News, there wasn’t a planned meeting between President Biden and Mayor Eric Adams. When questioned about a visit, Mayor Adams avoided the question and said on Monday:
"You know I don’t do those private conversations.”
"We always look forward to any conversation that can help deliver the critical support and relief that asylum seekers, longtime New Yorkers, and all Americans deserve."
Mayor Adams is getting desperate and hinted in an MSNBC interview the City budget may have to get cut to cover the budget shortage they are dealing with to support migrants. This could happen if New York City doesn’t receive any funds from the Biden administration.
The last time President Biden was in New York City was in January. Mayor Adams and the President did not have any talks about the migrant crisis. President Biden was in New York and made a $292 Billion contribution for the Hudson Tunnel Project according to a White House press release.
