CNN reporter Anderson Cooper recently asked House of Representative Nancy Pelosi if Vice President Kamala Harris should be President Joe Biden’s running mate. The response from Pelosi was insightful.
In the short video clip, Anderson Cooper asked Nancy Pelosi not once, but twice if she thought Vice President Harris should be President Biden’s running mate.
Pelosi didn’t say yes, and she also didn’t say no. She gave a roundabout response answering Cooper but Pelosi never answered the question he asked her.
Nancy Pelosi first came into office in 1987 after working with the former representative who held her seat, Richard Burton. Burton died from cancer in 1986.
After working in Congress for 37 years, Nancy Pelosi understands how politics works. Whether she personally supports Vice President Harris as Biden’s running mate no one will ever know. She gave a political answer to Anderson Cooper and avoided answering him directly.
When Anderson Cooper asked her the first time, she said President Biden thinks she is the best person for this position.
According to CNN, Pelosi said:
“He thinks so. And that’s what matters.”
She went on to talk about Harris’ former role in politics in California as attorney general.
Anderson Cooper asked Pelosi a second time if Vice President Harris is the best person as President Biden’s running mate.
“She’s the Vice President of the United States.”
