The richest or second richest man in the world depending on the day, is planning to spend some of his money in Texas.

Houston is already in a bad light with TEA taking over Houston ISD. But here is some good news.

Last year, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos reached a 10-year lease agreement with the City of Houston to create a tuition-free preschool in the City. In addition to free attendance, the school is providing free educational supplies, books, meals, and field trips. The Bezos Academy is currently accepting applications.

Students will be offered free breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

The website says:

“Our goal is to nurture the potential in every child to become a creative leader, original thinker, and lifelong learner by increasing access to early childhood education in under-resourced communities.”

The preschools will be located on the south side at New Hope Housing Reed Family Center, the Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center at 6402 Market Street, Magnolia Park at the Community Family Center Building on 7524 Ave. E., and San Jacinto College North Campus at the North Shore at 5800 Uvalde Road.

Mayor Sylvester Turner said in a news release:

“We are happy to continue to work with Bezos Academy to fight for the future of all children, especially those within our Complete Communities.”
“When we invest in our children, we are investing in a brighter and more equitable future for our city.”

Bezos Academy is also located in other parts of the country.

There are schools in Dallas, San Antonio, Florida, and Washington.

This is a good opportunity for Houston parents and their kids.

Do you know a family who would benefit from this?
