This year Florida has seen migrants arrive by boat, rafts, and a hang glider to the coastal state. The majority of migrants were from Haiti and Cuba. Now a group of migrants from Asia was recently identified on Sunday.

Three days after the COVID-era policy Title 42 ended, 10 Chinese nationals were encountered off the beaches of Miami. The migrants landed near Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort at 16701 Collins Ave.

Four Chinese migrants were initially encountered before the remaining six were found.

Witness Diego Quevedo said:

“While we were in the hotel we saw like cops and sirens and we were a little bit confused and then when we came outside we saw a bunch of like Asian people that were being stopped. Apparently, they were saying they came in a boat and there were like 10-15 of them and they caught like four or five over there.”

Florida doesn’t see many Chinese migrants, but they saw some recently. A Customs and Border Patrol agent said they encountered 29 migrants from China, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic earlier this year.

Texas and Arizona have seen some Chinese migrants over the past year.

Last month in New York City, some Chinese nationals were arrested as they were suspected as spies.

In February, Chinese migrants were apprehended in Arizona.

Most Chinese migrants arrive in the United States because of COVID restrictions in China. COVID is no longer big news as it was two years ago. But in China the story is different. This is what is forcing the Chinese to leave their country and escape the COVID restrictions.

Since COVID started, China cracked down and placed harsh restrictions on the population. China placed lockdowns on its citizens, restricted travel in the country, mandatory testing, and placed residents in quarantine.

Many Chinese nationals are seeking a better life in America.

Governor DeSantis recently passed a bill against employers hiring illegal immigrants.
