On Monday, another school shooting took place where three children and three adults were killed at a private Christian school, Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee. You would think it would be another male shooter but this was a 28-year-old female shooter.

The shooter was a former student of the school who was killed by police.

She had two semi-automatic rifles and a handgun.

After the shooting, President Biden called on to pass the assault weapons ban.

While he was at a Small Business Administration Women’s Business Summit, Biden said:

“I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapon ban. It’s about time we begin to make some progress, but there’s more to learn.”

President Biden said:

"So many members of the military come back with post-traumatic stress after witnessing the violence and participating in it. Well, these children, these teachers … we should be focusing on their mental health as well."
"We had to do more to stop the gun violence. It’s ripping our communities apart … ripping at the very soul of the nation, and we have to do more to protect our schools so they aren’t turned into prisons."

While the president was in Congress as the U.S. Senator for Delaware from 1973 to 2009. As a Senator, he supported and helped pass the 10-year ban on the manufacture and possession of semi-automatic weapons. But the law expired while Biden was still in Congress when it expired on September 13, 2004.

CNN reported earlier on March 6 this month there were over 100 mass shootings this year in 2023. Last year, the timeframe was similar as the country reached 100 mass shootings by March 19 and it was the same timeframe in 2021.

Since many Americans believe in the 2d Amendment to have the right to bear arms, any bill that limits the right to carry a weapon will be hard to pass in Congress.

The second Amendment states:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

You can see some details of how the shooter entered the school by shooting the glass door.

What do you think should be done to limit mass shootings?
