Last week, Donald Trump made announcements he would be arrested on Tuesday. Well, no arrest was made. But now the President and his team are asking for your support.
As you know, Donald Trump announced he is running for re-election in the 2024 Presidential campaign. Trump is either rising money for his campaign or for legal fees which will probably happen if he is arrested.
If you don’t know, Trump allegedly paid porn star actress Stormy Daniels prior to his election in 2016. Ms. Daniels said Trump had sex with her. To keep quiet, she accepted $130,000 from Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, said:
"He didn't seem worried about it. He was kind of arrogant."
She allegedly said she had sex with Trump when they met at a charity golf tournament in July 2006.
Trump was married to his current wife, Melania Trump at the time.
Trump wants you to do this
On Monday, Trump’s team wrote in an email to his supporters:
"They're trying to intimidate YOU and cancel out YOUR vote!"
"Which is why the Trump for President 2024 campaign is compiling millions and millions of petition signatures from Americans like you CONDEMNING these threats of a possible arrest."
Trump has also called for protests against his arrest. In several cities, police are prepared in case this happens.
He has even called out Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a person that Trump supported as he ran for office.
Trump wants your money
In the 2016 election, Donald Trump spent $66 million of his own money. He also used his own private jet and his office in Manhattan as his headquarters.
Today, the story looks different.
In a recent request, Donald Trump is asking for supporters to donate to his cause on his petition.
It reads to:
"help DEFEND our America First movement during these dark times."
The flier asks to donate up to $3,300 or more.
This may lead some to question is Donald Trump is broke. Most presidents leave office and write books or get speaking deals that increase their net worth.
Donald Trump has done neither.
His real estate wealth and businesses also declined while he was president.
Trump’s net worth when he entered office was $4.5 billion in 2016.
In 2022, Trump’s net worth declined. He was worth $3.2 billion as of October.
A lot of Trump’s wealth is tied to his business so he may look to raise money for his presidential campaign and possible legal fees.
