With less than 21 months until the country votes for the next President of the United States, former President Donald Trump already made his announcement that he is running. Unlike last time, he is not running with former Vice President Mike Pence.
So, there have been several names that people think he may consider. Some believe he will pick a woman as his Vice President to counter President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Axios wrote:
“Trump is already gaming out the general election in November 2024 — and knows he has a massive weakness with the white suburban women he would need to beat President Biden.”
There are several potential candidates in the political space who are available. Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee is a possibility.
Republican candidate for Arizona Governor Kari Lake is another.
Then Trump’s former Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is also a possible candidate.
And, let’s not forget Trump supporter Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Then there is one more potential candidate getting mentioned…
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.
“South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem also is frequently mentioned by Trump confidants as having strong veep potential.”
Noem hosted the former president at Mount Rushmore in July 2020.
But Noem doesn’t believe Trump will ask her.
Noem said a year ago:
"I would be shocked if he asked. I'm just so focused on South Dakota. We're doing great things. And we have got a lot more to do the next four years."
The governor was elected in 2019 and re-elected last year. She previously served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 and the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2018.
Politically, Noem has fought hard for low taxes and government growth.
As Donald Trump deals with his legal issues, he’ll likely choose his Vice President when everything is finished.
Do you think Kristi Noem would be a good Vice President?
