This is not to declare Herschel Walker should be the Senate representative for Georgia but determine if he is really from Georgia despite his Texas residency. In this previous article, Walker’s records mentioned he paid the homestead residency taxes for his Texas home since 2012.

Walker has lived in Westlake, Texas which is outside of Dallas since then.

But Walker finally decided to return home and run for office in his home state of Georgia.

When he declared he was running for office, he listed the home of his wife, Julie Blanchard, in Atlanta as his residency.

So, can Walker run for office despite living in Texas for the last decade?

According to the U.S. Constitution, it states:

"Every member of the Senate shall be . . . at the time of his election, a resident of the state from which he shall be chosen."

The former NFL star attended the University of Georgia.

Walker is from Georgia, specifically Wrightsville, Georgia. He then attended Johnson County High School where he played football and track. After graduation, he went on to attend the University of Georgia where he played football and won the Heisman trophy in his junior year of college.

With two days left, CNN provides an update on the Herschel Walker and Raphael Warnock race:

The importance of this election is more than where Walker lives

As elections were held last month in November, the election between Walker and his Democratic opponent Raphael Warnock has a bigger reason why this race is so important. The winning party decides who controls the Senate.

If Walker wins the election, then the Senate would be split, 50-50 between the Republicans and Democrats. But if Warnock wins, then the Democrats control the Senate.

Some voters want to ignore where Walker really lives. This election is bigger than that.

Right-wing radio host and former spokesperson for the National Rifle Association Dana Loesch said she wants control of the Senate.

So this election will have everyone watching to determine the fate of politics for the next two years. Either the Democrats will control the Senate or it will be evenly split as the Senate votes over issues under Democratic President Joe Biden.

The House of Representatives is already controlled by the Republican party by a few seats.

Do you think Herschel Walker is a Texan or a Georgian?
