Last year, the U.S. Border Patrol detained 42 terrorists who are on the U.S. Terrorist Watch list. Now, the number is up to 81. All of these incidents occurred since President Biden took office.

Governor Abbott tweeted:

“His refusal to secure the border is a direct threat to our national security.”

President Biden and Homeland Defense Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas were slammed by Texas Congressman Chip Roy last year when the 42 terrorists were detained:

“42 people on the TERROR WATCHLIST have been arrested at our border since Biden was sworn in.”
“More importantly: how many MORE dangerous suspects were in the over 600K known [migrants] who evaded law enforcement because Biden and Mayorkas REFUSE to secure our border.”

The U.S. Border Patrol said:

“The sharp rise in apprehensions of the watch listed individuals coincides with a significant rise in overall border encounters.”

In previous years, Border Patrol arrested no or up to 3 terrorist suspects along the southern border.

According to the CBP:

The TSDS [Terrorist Screening Dataset] originated as the consolidated terrorist watch list to house information on known or suspected terrorists (KSTs) but has evolved over the last decade to include additional individuals who represent a potential threat to the United States, including known affiliates of watch listed individuals.

Since last October, Border Patrol has encountered 1.8 million people at the border. This is four times the number of people at the border in 2020 when 405.036 were stopped.

Texas Congressman Tony Gonzales of San Antonio whose district covers most of the border blamed Biden and said:

“The Administration has failed to acknowledge that these things are happening. They have chosen to ignore all aspects of the border, not just the areas they don’t want to talk about, everything.”

Even though 81 terrorists were captured, it leaves one to wonder how many crossed the border without getting caught.

Do you think the Border Patrol needs more assistance?
