I recently took a trip to Round Rock, Texas, across from Austin, and stayed at the Kalahari Resort. The resort is about 35 minutes, depending on traffic from the Austin International Airport. So driving to the resort from Austin is not far at all.

During the trip, Texas school principals and teachers were in town for their annual Texas Elementary and Supervisors Association or TEPSA conference.

Before arriving, I wasn’t sure what to expect and thought it would be just like any other resort with a spa and fitness center. Well, I was completely wrong.

This resort had much more.

Plus, it is a very new establishment and will see its second anniversary this summer. So the bedding, bathroom, and carpeting were in great condition with little sign of wear and tear.

The resort has one, two, and three bedroom suites. Prices vary depending on the time of your stay but can be from $394 to about $799 a night. The water park is included with your stay as well as free internet service.

In addition to some world class restaurants - Italian, steak house, and sandwich shop. Additionally, there was a coffee shop, and other eating establishments, the hotel also had an indoor water park, equivalent to a Great Wolf Lodge which is located in 17 places across the United States.

Then the resort had an indoor bowling alley, escape room, live entertainment, and spa.

Also, guests who stayed at the resort had free access to the indoor water park which is the largest indoor waterpark in America at 223,000 square feet. It consisted of three indoor water parks, a heated hot tub, cabanas for rent, an indoor surfing/body boarding simulator, and a bar.

Nearby, there are a few restaurants in case you want to want something else. There are several Mexican restaurants, a Sonic, Taco Bell, bars, and a few other eating establishments.

Have you stayed at this resort before?
