This Friday, July 23, 2021, free pets are given away along with $125 to the new home. The El Paso Animal Services and the Best Friends Animal Society teamed up to each home that adopts a new pet.

For a pet that you bring home, the El Paso Animal Services and the Best Friends Animal Society will give you $125.

The $125 can be used toward vaccinating the pet or buying pet supplies.

El Paso Animal Services is located close to the Fort Bliss Cemetary in El Paso. They are located at 5001 Fred Wilson Blvd. Adoption hours are every day from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Feel free to call them if you have any questions call them at (915) 212-PAWS (7231).

To qualify, you need to register as a partner with El Paso Animal Services. If you are not registered, you can go here. The staff will help you find the right pet to take home.

"We want to make sure that the rescues that are taking a lot of these shelter pets are responsible and they're not just going to pick up animals for that incentive,” Ramon Herrera said. Herrera is the interim director of El Paso Animal Services.

The shelter has seen hundreds of pets coming to the shelter in the month of July.

"Our rescues, whether they get the support or not, are out there doing the hard work saving pets’ lives. So this will be an opportunity for both Animal Services and the Best Friend Animal Society to recognize the hard work of the rescues,” said Herrera.

The El Paso Animal Services requires that the animal is currently housed at the El Paso Animal Services Center. To receive the $125 incentive, the animal must either be a dog over 40 pounds, or any animal with medical needs or any adult cat six months or older.

Send your time as a volunteer

The El Paso Animal Services also accepts volunteers to help with the pets. Volunteers can be high school or college students looking to get volunteer hours. Also, anyone with time can stop by and volunteer to spend time with the animals. The time is flexible and if you only have an hour to spare, that works with Animal Services.

You can watch a little more about the El Paso Animal Shelter on this video:

There are many animals available for adoption. If you go to the animal shelter and don’t find a pet you want, you can sign up for a pet alert that the shelter provides. You can find out more on their website here.

The El Paso Animal Shelter is working to find a home for these animals. Pets can easily run away or some owners let their animals go. If you want a pet for your home, this week may be the best time to bring a new pet home. The animal shelter is giving free dogs and cats by this Friday along with a $125 incentive.

Once again, the El Paso Animal Shelter is located at 5001 Fred Wilson Blvd. Adoption hours are every day from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. If you have any questions call them at (915) 212-PAWS (7231).
