After winning the Super Bowl in 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles have gone downhill since then. Whether the quarterback makes a bad play, they rotate their lineman week after week due to injuries, or their coach not making the right call, little could be said at the end of the 2020-2021 season. It’s time to clean house.

The season started badly with the Eagles making bad draft picks. You’ll have to wait and see if their first and second round picks really show up to prove management made the right decision. So far, many others who were picked after them made an impact on other teams. Justin Jefferson had a phenomenal year after he was taken after the Eagles selected Jalon Reagor. Jalen Hurts took over for Wentz at the end of the season and did well in the games he played.

The coronavirus cut the preseason short but the same was true for every other team in the league. So there are no excuses here.

With aging players in football terms, it is time to rebuild. The Eagles lack the right tools to get back in the Super Bowl. It’s is hard to imagine only three years ago they brought the Lombardy trophy to Philadelphia. The team looked far from a championship team.

The next coach needs to use the tools that the Egles have. They have a capable running back who wasn’t used as best as he could have been this year. Carson Wentz was lost as well. He did work with a new group of lineman every week and they lost the team cohesion that is necessary for any team.

Whoever comes in needs to figure out who the next starting quarterback is. Between Wentz who lost a step this year to the capable Jalen Hurts. Both quarterbacks can take over. The question is who will be the starting quarterback.

Wentz needs time to figure out what he did wrong. Hurts needs to give it his best in the offseason and get ready to take over as the starting quarterback. This will be a duel to watch before camp begins in several more months.

As long as the coach comes in and is ready to handle the two quarterbacks, bring in some new coaches, the Eagles should at least be a playoff contender. The offseason will be very busy for the Philadelphia Eagles management and staff.
