Niamh Hogan has used her combined passion for the healing power of plants and a wish to bring joy into people lives. She was intrigued by the effect simple aromas of essential oils had on her clinical clients and started to research how these ingredients could be incorporated into everyday use. Thus, she was opened up to a wealth of information on plants and plant ingredients and their benefits, particularly to the skin. What started out as a simple quest to make people feel a little better became Holos Skincare that nourished both the skin and the wellbeing.
This year, for the month of October, Hogan and her team committed to fundraising for Women's Aid, a European Charity that supports women and children who are victims of domestic abuse and violence so their commitment to breast cancer has taken the shape of creating awareness rather than fundraising or donations this year.
"One of the most important things when it comes to breast cancer is early detection so we are running competitions on Facebook and Instagram over the course of the month. We wanted to remind women, to ask them to stop, to think, to take a few moments. There will be four lucky winners chosen from the entrants and the competition is open to women in the U.S and Europe and maybe, just maybe, we may be instrumental in a woman finding something and acting on it. So many women do not check themselves and as a brand that is so women focused we felt we had a platform, albeit small, to remind them to do so," Hogan explains.
Hogan's inspiration to do something for breast cancer awareness and for any charity they donate to or fundraise for is their team and their customers.
"We are an all female team in Holos, and most of our customers are female. We care about women. We care about what happens to women. We care about the things that effect women," Hogan says.
