Chick-fil-A, a fast-food giant in the South has been given approval by the Jefferson Parish Council on Wednesday to build another location in Metairie. The parcel of land is located on Airline Drive and Severn Avenue and was already commercially zoned. Neighbors in the area had previous expressed concern over traffic problems that could arise if the restaurant was built in the busy interaction.
Patrick Davis, Chick-fil-A's director of development for the Southwest region, said they have heard from neighbors over the past few months. The restaurant accommodates their concerns of drainage and traffic by adding landscaping, reducing some parking, and adjusting the buffer between the store and Airline Drive.
Chick-fil-A currently has eight locations throughout Jefferson Parish, five Orleans Parish and four in St. Tammany Parish.
