Down By The River

Ola mi amores! How’s everyone holding up? Here’s something new– a bohemian inspired post wearing Fetish Couture and Flash Tattoos from Style Moi! Updating you guys from the terminal area as I’m waiting for my flight to board to Kuala Lumpur… can’t wait to tell everyone all about this trip (hope I get there first safely though) but first, let me share with you guys this mini-adventure we had with my gorgeous friend Fe, and our very talented and beautiful photographer Lois. It’s been a long time since I had a shoot with Lois and Fetish (click here to read article) so I was very excited for this one.So last week,we went to look for a nice river to explore and shoot these bohemian outfits and after a short walk, (can I call it a hike?) we finally found beautiful (slippery)spots to take pictures. It started raining when we shot this so we had to wait for the rain to stop and we had to immediately run and take cover again as it started pouring. I tell you guys– we do a lot just to take good pictures, but absolutely no regrets because we want to make sure you enjoy seeing not only the clothes we shoot but also the art we put into this work. Working with Loiswas a breeze because she really knows what she wants, and she just manages to make everything look heart-stopping and magical.Having my friend around there too made the shoot extra fun and that’s really important too; to love your work and to inspire others while doing it.

Hello there guys! I’m back from my Phuket trip and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!. First off, I wanted to tell you guys about where I stayed before I post my postcard pictures. I stayed at Thavorn Beach Village and Spa in Kamala, Phuket for the first two days of my trip. Thavorn Beach is a 5-star Premium Resort with an unspoiled Private Beach. Thavorn has a very natural and lush feel to it and when you just really need a break and an escape from the outside world then you’d surely love it here. It’s just 10 minutes away from the nightlife, restaurants, and shopping areas in Patong Beach and is in proximity to the major Phuket attractions so you won’t feel isolated but you also won’t feel crowded.

Last week, I met up with some very talented friends, (Mia Crespo and LA Ferriols) from Manila who started their own clothing line called SXY. They are two lovely girls who studied in New York, at the Fashion Institute of Technology and are now back here in the Philippines to grace us with clothes that flatter, comfort and speak style all at once. We shot these limited edition bronze and marsala summer dresses that are perfect for the summer heat. Their collection is all about being daring yet staying classy and refined at the same time.

Confession: I am all about clothes that I can wear and take off in less than a minute. It’s so hot and humid in the Philippines right now, which is why as much as I’d want to put on cardigans and chambray polos,I just can’t. Plus I’m already admitting the fact that on most days, I’m a lazy dresser, and I think it has lots to do with the fact that where I’m from, a tank top, shorts, and sandals would be appropriate for like, anywhere you go.

Hello there again loves! Time flies so fast I barely noticed it’s already February! I guess it feels like time passes by so quickly when you’re having fun and when you love what you do. Speaking of loving what you do, I’ve always been a water baby, and being close to the beach and the ocean just gives me a sense of peace and calm, and mix that with fashion, and traveling, and adventure,  and you’d practically get a slight peak at the beauty life has to offer. I had a mix of a little bit of these when I went out to explore Puka Beach in Boracay, with their crystalline blue waters, interesting seashells scattered in the white sandy shores, and delicious Filipino food. I felt so happy that day just exploring little islets with my Family and I took so many pictures because I really wanted to capture the moment and remember how happy I felt that day. I am very passionate when it comes to taking pictures and my blog since it’s just like my baby, and I hope you guys can somehow relate to this when you find out what your passion in life is.

“Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire”. This quote had me do things I never thought I would be able to do before. When it comes to selling real estate, you really have to get out of your shell and be able to talk to people in a way that would allow them to trust you and be comfortable with you. You have to be smiling even if you feel like breaking down. You have to eat rejection for breakfast and still keep pushing and to tell you honestly, I really wasn’t a big fan of just talking to strangers and smiling a lot but hell, I did it anyway. If you’re wondering how in the world this is related to fashion, I’d tell you that one big reason I’m really working hard is because I want to be able to buy the things I’m wearing with my own hard-earned money. It felt good because for the first time, I bought this outfit with my own money. I really just used to ask for money from my dad, and right now, I just feel really happy and proud that I am able to live comfortably and buy the things I need and even the things I want with something that I worked hard for. I was able to block out my fear and discomfort and every effort is surely worth it.
