Shangri-La Staycation

Tia Lacson

Reminiscing the weekend filled with bliss when I brought my family to Cebu, where we enjoyed the sun, sand and sea at Sangri-La Mactan Resorts and Spa. There’s nothing more refreshing than a weekend with ‘nothing’ written on your to-do list. Just having a good time is the main concern, getting to bond with your loved ones, and seeing that smile on their faces.

When I said having ‘nothing’ written on your to-do list, I didn’t mean you couldn’t do anything here– The resort was a warm welcome and is spell-bindingly beautiful. Our rooms overlooked the ocean and the facilities were stunning.

They had ice-cream shoppes, an arcadeamazing cuisine, and tastefully-done interiors. And did I mention that on top of that, their amenities include a luxurious spa, 2 outdoor pools, 6 restaurants (where kids age 11 and under eat free) and 2 bars? Talk about #staycation goals. There’s also a 6-hole golf course, a tennis court and an exercise room, plus mini-golf, a kids’ play area, and a beach cove and marina. Activities such as paddle-boarding, snorkelling and jet-skiing could keep you entertained and on a high for days. As for me, just lounging by the beach and sipping on my fresh coconut already made my day, so I guess you could say my expectations were met and even exceeded. There are so many things you could do here, so I guess leaving the resort wasn’t really an option.

I also brought along these customized handmade bags from Luxesaint and paired it with the most comfortable slipdress from four cranes and I was good to go for the day. Comfort is always something that I considered when dressing up so I went with these pieces so I could easily throw my things inside my native handbag and just take off my dress when I wanted to swim anytime.

These are my summer essentials : A customized Luxesaint “BRB” hat and “LOVE” clutch, Aspiga slip-on sandals from Revolve and Celine sunnies. I always make sure to bring a clutch bag for when I want to keep things light, and a hat for protection from harmful UV rays. Also (not in this picture), I always, always bring either tanning oil or a sunblock to protect my skin and get an even tan.

Down By The River

Ola mi amores! How’s everyone holding up? Here’s something new– a bohemian inspired post wearing Fetish Couture and Flash Tattoos from Style Moi! Updating you guys from the terminal area as I’m waiting for my flight to board to Kuala Lumpur… can’t wait to tell everyone all about this trip (hope I get there first safely though) but first, let me share with you guys this mini-adventure we had with my gorgeous friend Fe, and our very talented and beautiful photographer Lois. It’s been a long time since I had a shoot with Lois and Fetish (click here to read article) so I was very excited for this one.So last week,we went to look for a nice river to explore and shoot these bohemian outfits and after a short walk, (can I call it a hike?) we finally found beautiful (slippery)spots to take pictures. It started raining when we shot this so we had to wait for the rain to stop and we had to immediately run and take cover again as it started pouring. I tell you guys– we do a lot just to take good pictures, but absolutely no regrets because we want to make sure you enjoy seeing not only the clothes we shoot but also the art we put into this work. Working with Loiswas a breeze because she really knows what she wants, and she just manages to make everything look heart-stopping and magical.Having my friend around there too made the shoot extra fun and that’s really important too; to love your work and to inspire others while doing it.
