Looking for a tasty, filling lunch in the Bay Area that’s still healthy? Maybe you started the Mediterranean Diet in the New Year, and you’re looking for an easy lunch out that’s diet-compatible?

If so, check out three new bowls from Mendocino Farms. Mendocino Farms is known for its sandwiches, which are top-notch and creative. They’re also known for massive salads, and (for those not following a particular diet) tasty cookies.

The Bay Area chain recently got on the healthy bowl bandwagon, though, by launching three new hearty lunch bowls of their own. The first is a shishito pepper and steak bowl. It has blistered peppers and thin slices of steak. The second is a chicken elote bowl. It’s based around quinoa and has Mexican-style chicken, cheese, and a spicy elote sauce you pour over top. The final one is a Mediterranean chicken bowl. This one is perfect if you happen to be following the Mediterranean diet, which is one of the top diets of 2022.

My favorite is the chicken elote bowl. The big helping of quinoa makes for a very filling bowl, but the spiciness and deep flavor of the sauce provides a lot of taste and interest. The shishito pepper bowl is great too, although when I got it, I felt like it didn’t have a ton of steak in it, and I still felt a bit hungry after eating it. Still, I would get it again–I might just choose to pair it with an individual side salad.

I’ve been eating Mendocino’s bowls for lunch a lot at their location at City Center Bishop Ranch. If you’re looking for diet-compatible, filling, tasty, healthy takeout, check their bowls out.
