Permanently Closed; Lather Store at City Center Shuts Doors For Good

Thomas Smith

According to a sign posted on the door of the Lather store in City Center Bishop Ranch, the store has closed permanently. This is likely due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Although retail stores are allowed to remain open at reduced capacity during the current Contra Costa County lockdown, many have struggled to find enough customers to remain in business during the pandemic. Lather sells high-end skincare products. The main company appears to still be in operation, as does the company's web presence.

The Lather store at City Center opened less than a year ago, in January of 2020. This was just months before the Covid-19 pandemic struck, and lockdowns were imposed.

A sign posted on the store read "This store location is permanently closed. Thank you for your continued support! We hope you will visit us at".

Despite the pandemic, many City Center businesses have remained in operation. Several restaurants continue to operate at the popular San Ramon shopping center, including the recently opened Ramen Hiroshi. New openings are planned, including a new location of ice cream store Salt and Straw.
