According to the San Ramon Police Department, the department’s officers arrested ten people in the week beginning November 16th, 2020 and ending November 22th, 2020.
The week started out quietly. There were no arrests on November 16th, which was a Monday. The next day, November 17th, was relatively quiet as well, with one 38 year old male arrested for public intoxication. The arrest appears to have occurred near Kimball Avenue.
On Wednesday, November 18th, the SRPD made two arrests. One was a 22 year old male arrested for an unspecific felony warrant. The other was a 33 year old male arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for a probation violation. One occurred as part of a traffic stop at Norris Canyon Road and Celaya Circle, and the other occurred due to a suspicious vehicle.
On Thursday November 19, 2020, the SRPD conducted an arrest for a potentially violent crime. A 31 year old male was arrested for felony domestic battery and criminal threats. It appears that the male attempted to resist arrest, as he was also charged with resisting/obstructing arrest. The arrest appears to have occurred as a result of a welfare check around 1:10 pm on Reflections Circle.
A 31 year old female was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant the same day, likely near Crestfield Drive, based on the department’s incident reporting system.
The next day, November 20, saw two additional potentially violent arrests. A 24 year old male was arrested for felony domestic battery. A 56 year old female was also arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery. The nature of these arrests was not immediately clear in the department’s reporting systems.
On Saturday, November 21, a 30 year old female was arrested for a felony warrant. The nature of the warrant was not immediately clear, but the arrest appears to have occurred on Sage Circle.
On Sunday, November 22, the SRPD arrested a 48 year old male for a felony warrant. They also arrested a 22 year old female for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
In total, the San Ramon Police Department reported 1,331 incidents during the week. Many incidents were welfare checks, alarm checks, and other police activities which did not result in arrests. The number of potentially violent crime arrests during the week was slightly higher than the previous week, while the number of arrests which mention drugs or other substances appeared to be lower.
Encouragingly, DUI arrests were relatively low for the busy holiday period. People may be driving less as a result of ongoing lockdown orders in Contra Costa County.
