Bank fishing for catfish has been my go to method for catching big fish. Blue catfish are so much fun to catch, especially when the bite is on fire. With the rising temperatures, and the river dropping, it made for great conditions to get out and catch some catfish from shore. The spring bite is coming, so you are going to have to start changing your methods soon! Shad was the hot bait for today, as that is what all of my catfish were caught using. With the shad run fast approaching, it is important to stock up on bait while you still can. Blue catfish feed very heavily on shad during this time, so it is important to match the food source they are already eating. The bite was very spread out this day; I had to move around to a few deep holes on a deep river to get my bites. You cannot be afraid to move when the action is slow! Catching catfish from shore is actually not very hard to do, as long as you know where you’re going, and when to move.

Hello all, My name is mark Pickett and I love fishing and exploring the outdoors. I have been fishing “seriously”for about 11 years now. I film fishing videos a few times a week and I am excited to share that all with the people online. Fishing is my passion, so I am always trying to bring the best content as possible. As time goes on, I look to improve the quality of my videos. Right now I do a lot of fishing for big catfish, but I enjoy catching multispecies as well. Enjoy the videos!
