On January 18, 2021, The Vivid Faces of the Vanished received a heart-wrenching request from a woman in Houston, Texas.
Her sister, 27-year-old Shanyea Shaquell Rolle, had vanished. At the time, the police department refused to take a missing persons report, and the media was unresponsive.
The following message from her sister was posted on our Facebook page:
"She disappeared after supposedly being dropped off at a gas station. We were told she was then last seen in a black sedan with a male and female. However we do not know how true this is.
Last seen in Houston, Texas I believe Harris county to be exact.
She has an 8-year-old son and never leaves and not check in with her son. She has not spoken to our family since 12/29/20.
I've reached out and tried to get this posted on the news nothing is happening .
The detectives are saying "THEY CANT LABEL HER MISSING UNTIL SHE CALLS THEM SAYING SHE IS MISSING" AND "IF SHE IS FOUND THEY CANT MAKE HER CONTACT HER FAMILY TO SAY THAT SHE IS SAFE ."
