25-year-old mother Marlaquinta McGhee worked as a security guard in Memphis, Tennessee. On May 12, 2015, Marlaquinta stopped by her parent's home in Memphis. She told her parents she was going to stay for dinner, but later changed her mind and decided to go home around 6:00 pm, reports the Charley Project.
"She has just vanished without a trace," her mother, Lakenya Twilley, told Action News 5. "She came by with the children. When she came by with the children, they were going to stay for dinner. She decided to go home. She was tired. She told me she loved me and walked out of the door."
Later that day, Marlaquinta dropped her sons off at their father's house. That evening, Lakenya received a call from her grandsons' father. He told Lakenya the pair argued, and Marlaquinta hit him in the face, reports Action News 5. He called the police, but by the time they arrived, Marlaquinta was gone.
"When I gave Marla a call, she did not answer," Lakenya told Action News 5.
Surveillance cameras showed her leaving her apartment complex on the morning of May 12, 2015. No one has seen or heard from Marlaquinta since. She was driving her tan 1999 Ford Contour with Tennessee license plate 302-ZTG. Her vehicle has never been located, reports the Charley Project.
Her family searched Memphis for Marlaquinta and posted flyers throughout the area. They are currently offering a $1,000 reward for information on her disappearance.
