Felicia Marie Johnson went to Houston, Texas to celebrate her 24th birthday. On April 15, 2022, Felicia went to the Cover Girls Night Club at 10310 West Little York Road to apply for a job. According to KHOU 11, the uber Felicia requested was running late. An unidentified customer at the club offered Felicia a ride. She accepted. Felicia has not been seen or heard from since.
"No cell phone activity, no credit card activity, no social media activity, she has absolutely just vanished off the face of the earth," Houston activist Quanell X told KHOU 11.
The father of Felicia, Kevin Johnson, flew to Houston from California.
"She was a beautiful loving person just like my mom, Rest in Peace," Kevin told KHOU 11. "I can't put it into words. I'm trying to hold myself together and not break down," Kevin said. "I don't know where my baby is or what's been done to her."
Her family immediately reported Felicia missing and hired a private investigator. The investigator found Felicia's cell phone discarded on the side of the road in Bear Creek Park. The cell phone was covered in blood. Texas EquuSearch and detectives from the Houston Police Department spent several hours searching the area where Felicia's phone was found on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
According to Quanell X, the family reported finding the cell phone, but the Houston Police Department “initially dragged their feet on the case," reports KHOU 11.
"HPD has to take these cases more seriously. This is the fourth one I've dealt with in six months of a missing African American female," Quanell told KHOU 11. "And in every one of those cases of a missing African American female, HPD has dragged its feet, and they did not do anything until I began to go public. We need that same level of attention and priority like you give the young White females. We want equality from HPD in how you deal with these cases."
The person who gave Felicia Johnson a ride from the Cover Girls Night Club has not been publicly identified. According to KHOU 11, Quanell X is hopeful the Cover Girls Night Club has surveillance videos that could identify the man who gave Felicia a ride.
"We believe that she is a victim of foul play. We believe that she is being held against her will," Quanell X told KHOU 11. "We want whoever is holding her to know that we will not rest, we will not stop looking, we will continue looking for her and we will continue hunting for you."
Felicia Marie Johnson is 5'4" and weighs 150 pounds.
