The Vivid Faces of the Vanished

Mary Jackson is a former University of Memphis basketball player. The 32-year-old is one of six siblings who were raised by their father, James Jackson.

About four months ago, Mary's sister, Marie Martin, and her daughter ran into Mary in the 200 block of South Front Street in Memphis, Tennessee.

“Me and my daughter ran into her, and we were talking to her for a little minute…like I said nothing was out weird causing alarm so we talked for a minute and had a couple drinks,” Marie told WREG.

Some weeks following their unexpected meeting, Mary's communication suddenly stopped.

“At first I was like Mary just out doing her you know, we gone hear from her but the fact she ain’t contacted nobody that’s what’s making it critical,” Marie told WREG.

Mary's father, James Jackson, said he became concerned when he received a call from the prosecutor's office, reports WREG.

“The prosecutor told me it was involving some kind of abduction and some kind of assault, related to something in that area and they needed her there to prosecute this person. I wasn’t clear if she was the victim or a witness,” James told FOX 13.

The office called because Mary was scheduled to testify regarding an abduction and assault case.

“At that point, I kind of got worried like wait a minute, so I mean apparently, she had been talking to the prosecutors regarding this matter and all of a sudden for her to disappear,” James told WREG. “It’s a little concerning.”

Mary Jackson's family and friends continue to search for her. Her sister, Jamie, immediately drove 11 hours from Milwaukee when she found out her sister was missing.

“I’m the oldest. I’m the oldest of six. Every time they in trouble or they need somebody to talk to, it’s always me and I haven’t heard from her. I can’t talk to her, I can’t let her know, Sis, we here,” Jamie told FOX 13.

“It’s kind of nerve-wracking. I’ve managed to raise these six kids as a single dad and to have my daughter come up missing,” James told FOX 13.

Mary Jackson is 6'0" and weighs 160 pounds.
