It's official. The numbers are in. Illinois is now giving more money to asylum seekers than they are providing to its original homeless population. According to a press release issued last weekend from Governor JB Pritzker and Lt. Governor Julianna Stratton, in the past year Illinois has spent over 328 million dollars towards assistance for asylum seekers.
