May 9th is Mother's Day this year and it's fast approaching. While Mom will always love you no matter what you gift her, food will never fail. Grab some flowers and take your dearest Mother Figure out to Brunch this upcoming Mother's Day weekend. Many of the usual brunches have been scaled back or canceled, so let's look at some new options this year. Don't head to the pricey resorts; instead, support the local restaurants and grab some brunch at someplace you haven't tried before. Here are five great options this year!

Located on the West side of the freeway on Congress Street, Agustin Kitchen is a modern take on the French bistro. Check out the Mother's Day brunch options on the website, and make a reservation ahead of time to make sure you get a table. Reviews rave about the delicious food and wonderful service. They have an extensive drink list and I hear their Sangria is one of the best. They have outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful weather while you take in the delicious french toast or prime rib.

Lodge On The Desert: Cielos

Head to the award-winning Cielos restaurant located inside the Lodge On The Desert. This little gem won the 2019 World Margarita Championship, so we know it's good. Head to Mother's Day brunch or a late lunch on May 9th from 11 am to 6 pm. Cielos is offering a four-course meal for $49 with delicious appetizers, salad, fabulous entree options, and a delectable dessert choice. This restaurant specializes in Southwestern-style food, and its menu has some delicious options. You can sit out on the patio and enjoy beautiful views and music while you dine. Reviewers rave about the tasty choices and many say they can't believe this spot isn't more popular. Make your reservations now to get your spot!

Another underrated resort restaurant is the Terazza Patio and Lounge located inside the Hacienda Del Sol resort. They're offering a special Mother's Day menu on May 9th for $45 a person. While they haven't posted the menu for the day quite yet, it's sure to be full of delicious options. Once you're finished with your meal, walk the grounds of the resort to view their botanical gardens and gorgeous views of the Catalina Mountains. This resort has some great accommodations as well as a top-rated Spa too. Treat Mom (or yourself!) to a weekend stay-cation at this lovely boutique hotel.

Culinary Dropout

Looking for something a little more low-key? Culinary Dropout is a great, casual spot to grab mimosas or a bloody mary while dining on some delicious bar-style food. My favorite is the bread pudding french toast, which is just an excuse to eat dessert for lunch. They offer of range of breakfast and lunch fare to satisfy everyone in your Mother's Day crew. You'll love the casual vintage vibes the decor gives off. They have a yard area where you can sit around a fire pit and play corn-hole in between bites. They have ping-pong tables too. It's a great time with delicious food.

North Italia

If you want to get brunch and do a little shopping afterwards, North Italia at the La Encantada outdoor mall is the spot for you. All-day happy hour on Sundays means you can get some great drinks and bites at affordable prices. Save that money to spend at the shops afterwards. A bunch of new stores have opened at the mall, including Free People, Madewell, and Johnny Was. The brunch menu at North Italia features sweet treats like Italian Donut French Toast or savory bites like the Squid Ink Malfadine. Sunday brunch is the best mixture of affordable pricing and delicious offerings. You can sit inside or around one of the fire pits out on their patio.
