K-Stop Korean Street Eats now open in Winston-Salem

The Planking Traveler

K-Stop is a fast-casual Korean street food-inspired restaurant offering selected, popular Korean street eats including K Dogs, chicken wings, chicken bites, Korean egg toast, and kuppokki (rice cakes). They are owned by the same family that runs Binki Cafe in Winston-Salem, a delicious bubble tea and ramen joint located just a few doors away in the same shopping center.

Google reviews so far seem mixed with some complaints about wait times and temperature of the food, but with many compliments on flavor, portion size and atmoshere. The menu is filled with indulgent goodies, so I wouldn't suggest going if you're looking for health food; that's not the point! I love the depth of flavor that traditional Korean cuisine offers, but have never tried Korean street food so I look forward to visiting and sampling what they have to offer, especially the rice cakes.

Their window signs says “baegopa?” which means “Are you hungry? and “annyeong” which in Korean is a casual way of saying “Hello”. Momo the chicken (pictured below) is their adorable brand ambassador!

They will also be opening a Charlotte location this summer at 9211 N Tryon St, Ste 9. This used to be The Original Hot Dog Factory location.

Like the Winston-Salem location, this will be few doors away from Binki Cafe in the same shopping center with lots of parking space. The new K Stop location will be at Mallard Pointe Shopping Center across from UNCC and the JW Clay train station, the same location where the 1st Binki Cafe opened its doors in 2019 in Charlotte. All four locations are family-owned business and locally based in Charlotte and Winston-Salem.

Come on out and grab your favorite drinks from Binki Cafe and then walk over to enjoy some Korean street food! Have you been to Binki or K-Stop yet? If so, let me know your thoughts in the comments!
