A proposal to build a 30-unit three-story townhome project goes before the Garden Grove Planning Commission when it meets on Thursday, Dec. 7. The development would be built at the southeast corner of Brookhurst Street and Central Avenue.
Melia Homes proposes to include three affordable residential units for “moderate income” households on the 1.22-acre site.
In addition to the site plan and tentative tract map, the applicant is asking for a rezone from neighborhood commercial (C-1) and limited multiple residential (R-2) to multiple family residential (R-3) at the public hearing.
Also on the agenda are public hearings for:
- a site plan for addition of 2,510 square feet of building area and 580 square feet for an equipment yard enclosure to an existing industrial building (GKN Aerospace Transparency Systems) at 12242 Western Ave.,
- a request to demolish an existing church site at 11236 Dale Street (between Katella and Orangewood avenues) and build a two-story religious facility for the True Jesus Church on the 7,430 square foot site;
- a conditional use permit for The Wharf restaurant at 12941Main Street to permit two new pool tables and modify operating hours to be from 11 a.m. to midnight on Sunday to Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursday to Saturday.
The planners will meet at 7 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
