The Nerdy Me

New week – new Netflix watch recommendations for your viewing pleasure. This week we are looking into some of the new TV series on Netflix that you have to watch.

Netflix has been giving us new watches each week since the beginning of 2021 and so far we love what we see. With a new wave of European and foreign-language additions, Netflix seems to be paving a path for new and lesser-known film producers and actors.

Here are the top three TV shows currently on Netflix that you should watch right now!

Sky Rojo

This is the latest addition to the Spanish-language Netflix series in a collaboration with Álex Pina who is mostly known as the creator of Money Heist here in the United States and the international entertainment industry.

This new drama series is jam-packed with action and lots of adrenaline. Also, it is a super raw and unfiltered show with lots of explicit content but that is one of the reasons why the tv show works so well.

Sky Rojo follows three woman - Coral (Verónica Sánchez), Wendy (Lali Espósito), and Gina (Yany Prado) - who flee their daily lives at the Las Novias strip club in search of freedom.

Each episode is about 25 minutes long and in total there are 8 episodes in the first season, so if you are anything like me, you are most likely to spend the whole afternoon binge-watching the series until you suddenly reach the last episode.

The show covers important topics such as human trafficking and many more.

Currently, the second season is in making and it should air in July 2021.

White Lines

White Lines appeared on Netflix in 2020 but it took us a while to finally sit down and watch it. And wow, that was a wild ride!

The show mainly features Zoe Walker who leaves her quiet life behind to investigate her older brother's disappearance in Ibiza who went missing 20 years ago.

However, she quickly goes down a dangerous and self-destructive path. All the while she slowly discovers what really happened to her brother at his final birthday party twenty years ago.

The show could be categorized as a mystery thriller and it sure keeps you guessing and blood pumping as it goes. This is yet another masterpiece creation of Alex Pina, a Spanish television producer and writer. However, this show is mostly in English with a few Spanish speaking clips.

The season has 10 episodes and it is unclear if the series will have a second one.

Ginny & Georgia

You might have heard about a quick scandal revolving around this show which involved a reference to Taylor Swift in one of the episodes. Asides from that short line, the show is nothing but a pleasant and unexpected watch for good drama show lovers.

The show revolves around Georgia, a 30-year-old free-spirit, and her two kids - fifteen-year-old daughter Ginny and a young boy named Austin. Yes, they are named after a state in which they were born...

Anyways, the show might appear as another drama series about family, love and friendship but as you continue to watch it, you will start to realise that there is a bit of crime involved as well which captures the viewer in as it goes.

The first season aired at the beginning of 2021 and consists of 10 episodes that will keep you addicted.
