Auburn Police Traffic Stop Finds Man Out With Six Bail Contracts in Possession of Drugs

Auburn Police conducted a traffic stop on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 3:50 p.m. in the neighborhood of 1083 Riverside Drive. During the stop, police discovered that the driver, Jovan Calhoun, 40, of Auburn, was operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver's license. Calhoun is out on six bail contracts for other pending driving and drug offenses. Also in the vehicle was Wendy Barry, 62, of Auburn.

Upon investigating, police found approximately 13 grams of crack cocaine in the vehicle. Auburn Police recently started an investigation into Calhoun for suspected drug trafficking in Auburn.

Police arrested Calhoun and Barry. Calhoun was charged with operating after revocation class C, aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs class A, and violation of conditions of release class E. Due to prior drug convictions for Calhoun, the drug offense charge was aggravated. Wendy Barry was charged with class B unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
