Bangor Humane Society is in need of blankets
The Bangor Humane Society is asking for some help from Mainers to keep the dogs in their kennels comfortable. They are asking for donations of blankets to use on the cold kennel floors to keep the dogs comfortable and warm. Donations of clean, new, or used blankets, comforters, or throws can be dropped off at the Bangor Humane Society from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. If you have donations but can't make it during those hours, you can stop by and leave items on their covered porch. The Bangor Humane Society is located at 693 Mount Hope Avenue.
Volunteers are needed at the Piscataquis Regional Food Center
If you are looking for a way to give back to the community or if you have some free time and would like to get out of the house every week, then the Piscataquis Regional Food Center in Dover Foxcroft could use your help. There are currently over 20 volunteer opportunities available with a set time each week. There is a role for everyone, including roles such as scheduling appointments by phone and updating guests' records, helping guests with packages, and curbside pickups. Volunteers are also needed to create pre-packed boxes for home delivery participants and guests who do not wish to shop, helping to create a warm, friendly shopping experience by stocking and organizing shelves and arranging produce. The Piscataquis Regional Food Center is also looking for volunteers to welcome guests and assist them during their visit. If you would like more information on volunteering or are ready to volunteer, you can either email the Piscataquis Regional Food Center at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (207) 802-8230.
If you are a non-profit or volunteer group and you are looking for volunteers or donations, email me at TheMaineWriter@outlook.com with your information. You can also email me info on any fundraisers you are planning on holding.
