If you are looking for something to do this weekend or would like to get the kids out of the house, then here are some events going on this weekend that you might want to consider. Unfortunately, the annual ice fishing derby in Dexter was canceled due to poor ice conditions, along with two other derbies scheduled for this weekend. You can still buy tickets for the Dexter raffle with crossbow and firearm prizes. See the details listed below. Enjoy your weekend!

Saturday 1/14

Auburn: Saturday Night Comedy Showcase at Craft Brew Underground, 34 Court Street, with seating starting at 6 p.m. and the show at 7 p.m. Admission is $10.

Augusta: A wedding show is being held at the Augusta Civic Center. There are two shows, one is from 12 to 3 p.m. and the second show is from 1 to 3 p.m. Brides will enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne and appetizers, along with prizes, raffles, and giveaways. From photographers and bakeries to wedding decor and attire, you will find everything you need for your wedding at the show. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased here.

Dexter: The Dexter ice derby was canceled, but tickets are still available for the crossbow, firearms, and community prizes raffles. You can purchase tickets at Lakeshore Restaurant, 16 Crocket Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Winners need not be present to win.

Ellsworth: Down East Dancers Dance at the YMCA, 238 State Street, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Come and have fun with a DJ dance. Ballroom, freestyle dancing, and more. There will be a lesson at 7 p.m. Admission is $10, with seniors and students admitted for $8.

Hallowell: Indoor public ice skating at the Ice Vault, 203 Whitten Road, from 1-3 p.m. Tickets are $7.25 and can be purchased here.

Sunday 1/15

Dexter: The Dexter ice derby was canceled, but tickets are still available for the crossbow, firearms, and community prizes raffles. You can purchase tickets at Lakeshore Restaurant, 16 Crocket Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Winners need not be present to win.

Sullivan: Sullivan Fire and Rescue are hosting a benefit lunch at 12 p.m. at the Sorrento-Sullivan Recreation Center, 1776 US-1. This benefit will be for Franklin Fire Department Assistant Chief Steve Grindle, who suffered a heart attack on December 25th. There will be soups, stews, chowders, and more available for $5.00 per person.
