CHARLOTTE, NC- Getting fit this summer is not always about going to a fancy gym and eating low-carb foods. In Charlotte, you can get your summer body in the nearby Revolution Park Sports Academy.

No need to sign up for expensive gym membership, you can now choose your own favorite sports activity by registering at Revolution Park Sports Academy. Initiated by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, Revolution Park Sports Academy offers one-stop-for-all fitness programs and facilities.

The 30,000 square foot facility boasts the first silver L.E.E.D (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) facility. The sports academy provides a broad range of skill development for youth and teens through fitness programs, after-school enrichment activities, and non-traditional spots.

In this sports academy, members can find a wide variety of facilities. Golfers can find a complete golf course equipped with a golf pro shop, grill, and concessions. The sports training area includes a boxing training area with various punching bags and multi-use training for group exercises such as martial arts and wrestling. Other facilities include athletic fields and synthetic football fields in partnership with the Carolina Panthers. The Sport academy opens Monday until Saturday from morning to evening.

Charlotteans can find the full schedule of classes offered in Revolution Park Academy by accessing Mecklenburg County Park & Rec website. Classes such as softball league, pickleball tournament for seniors, grass volleyball, flag football, adult kickball league, and other activities can be registered online with a fee starting from $50 for private individuals.

In addition to sports games, residents of Charlotte can also register for its wellness program. Revolution Park Sports Academy is offering fitness and wellness programs for active older adults aged 50-99 years who want to have a more active and healthy lifestyle.
