CHARLOTTE, NC – Children in Charlotte will be back to school in a few days. In order to keep up the fighting spirit, South End prepares something special for children this weekend.

South End Market is hosting a special event this Saturday, Aug 21 for children in Charlotte who will be back to school with the whole different pandemic settings. The event will be held at Atherton Mill, 2140 South Boulevard. All children and parents are welcome.

The Back to School event will feature 25 local vendors offering kids’ favorite food, drink, and products. In addition to giving your children a short shopping spree, make sure you estimate enough time to watch all of the entertainments in the event.

South End Market Back to School event is going to invite Chef Alyssa from Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen for a live cooking demo featuring children's favorite menu. If your kids love interacting with animals, the Back to School event will also bring several farm animals to educate and entertain the children.

For artsy kids, there will be a workshop on hair feathering and face painting. The live music performance will be delivered by Charlotte’s local artists, including the popular MonaLisa. Not only the event is free to attend, but the first 100 children will also get a free lemonade flavored Popsicle from U.S. Bank. To grab your free dessert, make sure you arrive on time at 8 AM.

While the kids are having fun enjoying the live entertainment or shopping at the vendors, parents can browse a wide range of groceries in South End Farmers Market. Bring home some local fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat curated from local artisan farmers.
